Friday, September 21, 2012 at 4:23PM Another minor update. This time I added the Meetings section and some notes to the Outside the app and Customizing Calendar sections as a guide for wrapping this up. I'd like to finish this chapter by the end of the weekend if possible, and it's already taken longer than expected, and is longer than I expected. I think a week to 10 days per chapter is reasonable going forward.
As with the previous update, this one is probably very rough. I've not done any editing, sorry, nor added most feedback-related changes. (Sorry on that as well.) I've also stopped adding screenshots, mostly because it would distract me from writing, but also because they will all need to be retaken anyway.
I suspect the temporary end-game for this chapter will involve just putting it aside until we can really be sure nothing has changed in Windows Phone 8, and then of course eventually linking the appropriate bits to other parts of the book. It will get there.

I love the work so far it coming together really well. I was wondering though if there is a way to embed the office document into the webpage as well as a link to skydrive. Just a suggestion keep up the good work.

Ah, you can almost see how the chapter is about done. Great writing of course!
One small suggestion though: you wrote "The lock screen displays your next appointment, like the tile" but allegedly, according to what's been leaked, you can choose the app that show you statuses on your lock screen in Windows Phone 8, much like you can in Windows 8. So Calendar would only display your appointments if you choose to do so.
Obviously I'm not sure of this but it's worth checking it out!

The final two sections, Outside the app and Customizing Calendar, are just placeholders with notes, for now. I'll flesh those out as they're written and will absolutely cover whatever new Lock screen functionality there is.
