Here is an update to the fledgling Windows Phone 8.1 Field Guide that includes an expansion of the "Before You Start" chapter plus a revised version of the "Set up your new phone" section from the second chapter. (It's been updated for Windows Phone 8.1 of course and includes all new shots.)
I won't be updating this thing linearly, but this update does indeed basically follow the previous one, so I'm just providing the whole book document, which remains rough (and will for a long time).
